This featured image of a water lily was taken at the Brooklyn botanic garden. If you happen to be anywhere within 50 miles of this magnificent garden, go. You will not be disappointed. The featured image should give you an idea of the level of quality I demand from myself. I have seen a lot of photographers web sites. Chunky low resolution photos seem to be the norm. I always come away wanting more. I want your business. I want you to see my work and think hey this guy is good. I know most of the work I see just doesn’t do it for me. I know most photographers fear that there work will be stolen when posted to the Internet. So the chunky, tiny images serve as a deterrent, a fail safe. Who would want them, you can barely even see them.
I want something different. I want people to see quality in my work.
I don’t want anyone downloading my work to use as wallpaper, desktop pictures, homemade greeting cards or in some obscure publication. I have given some thought to solving this problem. I understand the need to protect your photographs and prevent people from stealing your work. First my images are all protected by the digimarc electronic watermark and will show R.S. Lauridsen as the registered owner. Even the custom graphics I designed in this site have the digimarc embedded within them. In addition to this I have incorporated other measures within my site to prevent my photographs from being easily downloaded. Serious photographers interested in incorporating these methods into their own sites may contact me to discuss my methods. You can’t prevent anyone who really wants to steal your work from doing just that. Web designers, programmers and many users will no doubt still be able to STEAL my images if they want to. But the old drag and drop is out. Please enjoy my work. Thank You |
